Italeri 1/72 RF-4C/E Phantom II Reconnaissance Aircraft Model

Description

The McDonnell Douglas RF-4C and RF-4E Phantom II variants were specialized reconnaissance aircraft developed from the F-4 Phantom II platform. The RF-4C was primarily used by the United States Air Force, while the RF-4E served in various air forces, including those of Germany and Iran. Both variants retained the F-4’s airframe and engines but were equipped with advanced cameras and sensors for aerial reconnaissance missions. The RF-4C was introduced in the 1960s and played a significant role in intelligence gathering during the Vietnam War. The RF-4E, introduced later, featured improved avionics and reconnaissance equipment. Both variants were retired from active service in the early 2000s.
