This 1/48-scale model kit from Hasegawa reproduces the Kawasaki K-45 Kai Type 2 two-seat fighter Toryu Model D flown by the Kaiten Air Defense Squadron!

The Kaiten Air Defense Squadron carried out suicide attacks on B-29s using specially modified aircraft with their armaments removed and the rear seats blocked. New decals are included for the aircraft flown by Lieutenant Sanosaburo Yamamoto, Commander of the 4th Air Squadron’s 1st Heavenly Air Defense Squadron (Ozuki Airfield, Yamaguchi Prefecture, 1945), and an aircraft of the 4th Air Squadron’s 1st Heavenly Air Defense Squadron (Ozuki Airfield, Yamaguchi Prefecture, 1945).
