Description

In 1936, the Japanese Navy ordered Aichi, Nakajima, and Mitsubishi to build a prototype of the No. 11 Carrier Bomber . However, Mitsubishi abandoned development midway, so Aichi and Nakajima competed to develop a prototype.

Aichi developed an all-metal low-wing monoplane with aerodynamically superior elliptical tapered wing planform for the main and tail wings, fixed main landing gear for practicality’s sake, and dive brake pads on the underside of the main wings. The prototype made its first flight in 1938.

This decal variation of Hasegawa’s fine 1/48 Val kit includes markings for the plane as it appeared on the carriers Akagi and Kaga during the Battle of Midway.

Comes with new bomb parts.
